Problem Description

In some specific cases, you need to clear the switch configuration and then reconfigure the switch. This case describes how to clear the switch configuration (both restoring factory defaults).

Solution

Empty switch configuration (restore factory defaults) is divided into two cases

(a) You can remember the password set by the device, and carefully confirm whether to enter Y or N in the human-machine dialogue prompted by the switch when you operate it.

<Huawei>reset saved-configuration

Warning: The action will delete the saved configuration in the device.

The configuration will be erased to reconfigure. continue? [Y/N]:y

<Huawei>reboot

Info: The system is now comparing the configuration, please wait.

Warning: All the configuration will be saved to the configuration file for the ne 

xt startup:flash:/vrpcfg.zip, Continue?[Y/N]:n (Note: N here)

System will reboot! Continue?[Y/N]:y

After the device reboot, the default factory value will be restored, and you will be prompted to set the password when logging in the serial port, just follow the normal configuration.
